Our client is currently looking for Paralegal for the Casualty department of their Liverpool based firm.
Duties will include, but not be limited to,
• Instructing internal and external investigators/agents
• Undertaking some degree of investigation i.e. on the internet, by telephone
• Preparing disclosure lists
• Drafting witness statements
• Completing court documents such as Allocation questionnaires, Listing questionnaires, Witness summons
• Drafting court applications, consent orders etc
• Reviewing and assessing evidence, medical records etc
• Drafting reports, update letters to clients
• Researching law, quantum and procedure
• Attending trials with Counsel
• Liaising with various internal departments
• Liaising with witnesses, experts, investigators etc
• Instructing and liaising with external Counsel
• Undertaking administrative tasks relevant to the role
• Diarising tasks and court directions
Candidate Requirements,
• A good working knowledge of CPR and relevant case law
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Ability to interact and communicate with the client and keep them up to date
• Adheres to guidelines and procedures
• A proactive attitude to work
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise own workload and meet deadlines
• Demonstrates an understanding of clients, colleagues and others
• IT skills in particular Word, Excel, Outlook
