Legal Assistant (Document Management)

ACS are now recruiting for a Legal Assistant to work within a busy law firm based in Warrington.

Main Purposes:

1. To manage storage of new and existing wills.

2. To manage storage of other documents held by the Private Client team.

3. To compile and maintain an accurate Excel database of all Wills held by the Private Client team together with key information.

Key Tasks (non-exhaustive list):

o Assist in communications with clients through relaying incoming and outgoing messages.

o If required, assist with file management including compliance with opening and closing procedures and timely archiving.

o Ensure the positive representation of the firm in all dealings with clients and others

o Ensuring own safety and the safety of others in the department by reporting all Health and Safety risks to the Head of Department and maintaining a neat and tidy working environment.

o Such other tasks as shall be reasonable in all the circumstances

o Review existing Wills in storage and enter details onto an Excel spreadsheet.

o Ensure details of all new Wills are accurately recorded on the spreadsheet.

o If required, assist with review of incoming post, scanning and distribution to fee earners.

o Attend departmental meetings

o Ensure correct storage of Wills and other original documents.

o Entry of details of Wills and other original documents into the firm’s databases.

o Manage requests for Wills and other original documents by fee earners and clients.


Computer literacy and competence with Word and Excel.

Trained on modern systems and preferably with experience in a Legal Office.

GCSE level standard of education including Maths and English-Grade C and above


Self-motivated and ability to work unsupervised.

Able to drive and access to own transport.

Higher level of education to the equivalent of A levels or a Degree/LPC
