Defendant Cost Negotiator

We are recruiting for a Cost Negotiator to join our client’s legal firm based in Warrington.

You will handle claims for costs covering all areas of costs work including RTA, Employers Liability and Public Liability.

 Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reviewing Formal and Informal bills
  • Provide advice to clients and run matters to assessment
  • Liaising with Claimant Solicitors, Counsel and Court
  • Drafting and dealing with Points of Dispute and Replies
  • Drafting Schedules for summary assessment
  • Negotiate Settlement as quickly as possible and on the best terms available

Person Specification

  • Ability to manage own cost files
  • Plan and prioritise work load
  • Excellent listening and verbal and written skills
  • Good telephone negotiation skills
  • Follow Firm work procedures and keep to strategy
  • Positive, confident and enthusiastic attitude
  • Ability to use own initiative and make decisions
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Good IT and Case Management skills
  • Anticipate problems and identify solutions

Full time permanent role, salary dependent on experience.
