Associate – Industrial Disease
We are currently recruiting for an Associate Industrial Disease department of our clients firm in Liverpool.
Key duties include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining consistent financial performance, including control of all aspects of individual figures, in ensuring that all financial targets are met and, where, possible, exceeded
- Forensic review of records and documents
- Drafting correspondence, documents, file notes, attendance notes, witness statements and reports
- Preparing court documentation, including applications, disclosure statements, directions questionnaires and pre-trial checklists
- Preparing instructions to counsel and experts
- Assisting in business development activity, including drafting of case summaries, e-shots and articles for internal and external publication, attending business development functions and events, contributing positively to the growth of the team as and when required
- Assessing evidence, advising upon all aspects of a claim, drafting and pursuing agreed case strategies
- Proactively liaising with clients, third parties, experts, counsel and others by email and telephone
- Coordinating and attending meetings, court hearings and conferences
- Handling litigated Disease matters, with minimal supervision, conducting settlement negotiations as appropriate
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in Noise Induced Hearing loss claims is required, experience in HAVS / RSI is desirable
- Ability to manage own caseload
- Adheres to guidelines and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent organisational skills
- Demonstrate high level of IT skills
- Demonstrates an understanding of clients, colleagues and others
