Probably around 4/5 PQE (although other PQE will be considered). Preferred experience:-

  • Contested and uncontested Winding Up and Bankruptcy proceedings. To also supervise junior staff dealing with uncontested Petitions, debt collection and provide support where contested
  • General commercial contractual disputes
  • Professional negligence
  • Construction
  • Chancery work
  • Partnership/Directors and shareholder disputes

Experience not essential in all of these areas, but relevant experience will assist the successful candidate.

The role will be to effectively assist the Managing Director who undertakes a mainly commercial litigation caseload, and who has been individually recommended by the Legal 500, both for commercial litigation and for employment work. It will involve taking over part of his caseload and also to assist as required on larger cases. It will include assisting a trainee Solicitor (about to qualify) who undertakes insolvency based debt collection on contentious issues. There are real prospects for the right candidate as the Managing Director intends to gradually draw out of case work and undertake supervision, together with management and practice development role.

The candidate will need to be able to demonstrate excellent legal skills and knowledge of the Court Rules supported by references
